Dr. Harris, I want to thank you for the difference you have made in the quality of my life. The recent TVT has been so successful that I can live a "normal" life. Daily routines have been made much easier and travel is now a joy. The amazing thing about this particular surgery is the quick recovery. I experienced very little pain and was able to return to a normal routine in the third week. I would certainly recommend this procedure to anyone who is having incontinence problems. It will definitely change your life!

"When I came to your office with Interstitial Cystitis, I was at the end of my rope. I had really given up hope. But under your care, my life has turned around. Last week was the first time in years that I actually slept through the night. I can't begin to thank you all enough. "

Dr. Harris, I just wanted to drop a note of thanks to let you know that you have changed my life and our married life. Basically, you have given it back. At 43, my life had eroded to the point of moving around like a little old lady and never being away from home or very far from a restroom. I avoided any vigorous activity with the kids and marital activity with my husband trying to avoid embarrassing problems. I had resigned myself to the fact that having 3 large babies (10lbs 12oz!), major episiotomies etc., late in life had its consequences and I simply must live like this. However ... Now six months post surgery (bladder suspension, cystocele, rectocele, and hysterectomy), I can eat a normal diet, run and play with my children, bounce on the trampoline, laugh, cough and sneeze! all of the simple things that I could not do without being a poster child for Depends and Metamucil. My husband can now pick me up and swing me around and I can enjoy all of our time together as it should be. I have lost 20 lbs as well and actually feel like wearing pretty clothes. I don't need the extra room for the pads or feel like I need the dark colors. Physiologically and psychologically for me I am renewed and my family has me back as well

Dr. Speights, I just wanted to thank you do very much for all you've done to help make my life so much more carefree & enjoyable! So Far, I've jumped on the trampoline, jogged, played softball and most importantly tennis, without any problems. I've been so excited! I really did not realize how much my bladder problem weighed on me; but now that is corrected. I feel like a new person.

Dr. Harris, I want to thank you and your wonderful staff. When I came to your office I had suffered from incontinence for over 25 years. The first 15 years was more of a nuisance but gradually the episodes became more and more frequent. Over the past 2 years the episodes of bowel control had taken over my life emotionally. There was never a minute away from my home that I felt relaxed. I was always up tight worrying if I would get back home without a major occurrence. I do mean Major!! There was not control. It was like someone reached over and turned on a faucet and there was not turning it off. You have turned my life around. I can now go to work (25 minute drive) without being concerned if I would get there without having to stop. (Many times I did not) I refused to let this monster take over my life. I now have control, I can feel pressure (the door needs to be open) without having the waste leak or totally empty itself. I cannot thank you enough for taking me as your patient and understanding how desperate I was for help. The repair of my anal sphincter muscle has changed my way of living and given me a new outlook on life.

Dr. Harris performed a bladder suspension procedure - a "sling" at Ms Baptist Medical Center and I went home that evening and had a very little post-op discomfort. Now I am able to walk 3 miles a everyday and workout at the "Y" 30 minutes per day - with NO leaking or incontinence. I no longer have frequency or urgency and no accidents when sneezing or coughing. My husband has been so amazed at the marked changed in my life, he wanted to give Dr. Harris a bouquet of Roses!
My personal history is a long one of Interstitial Cystitis for 25 years with most of the conventional therapies. Since this surgery I have had 2 or 3 bladder spasms relieved by hot sitz bath, Darvocet, Tagamet. I have followed the 'I. C." diet (low acid, no carbonated or caffeinated beverages, no spicy foods, no corn, beans, etc. I have been on Amytroptline at night for 2 years. I sleep all night without pain and only getting up once to void.
For 3-4 years prior to Surgery the frequency, urgency, leaking, accidents had grown progressively worse from being managed by min-pads to maxi-to serenity pads or desperation as symptoms worsened. I saw my gynecologist for a routine pap smear etc. He referred me to Dr. Harris and his examination and tests revealed a prolapsed bladder. I had severe perineal pain while walking and frequently had vaginitis. Traveling was a nightmare of frequent stops, trying to find a restroom. Attending church always sitting in the back-row-aisle-seat so as not to disturb others.
n summary, I have my life back and even the I. C. symptoms have been relieved. I would encourage others to leave the depends to June Allyson and go for it !

I want to let you know how thankful I am for the success of my recent Surgery. As you know I was very apprehensive about having this done because a previous attempt of this same surgery by another physician was not successful at all.
Your positive attitude and the support of your staff was comforting and helped me decide to have the surgery again. Your interest in the "well being" of your patients is evident upon entering your Clinic. This is a rare attitude and is appreciated very much.
